Samsung’s announcement to enter the battlefield of Android created ripples in the mobile phone market. It marked its first launch with Samsung Galaxy i7500 Android Mobile Phone. With a dimension of 115.4mm X 57mm X 12.5mm, the handset is compact, and is similar to HTC Magic. Samsung Galaxy i7500 android mobile phone is equipped with a 3.2 inches display with a resolution of 320 X 480 pixels. The display delivers vivid and pleasing image quality, with its AMOLED technology.
Samsung’s First Android Mobile Phone employs Android 1.5, also known as the Cupcake update. It allows the easy synchronization of the phone book contacts and calendar of the phone to your Google account. Like any Android handset, Samsung Galaxy i7500 delivers a full set of modern messaging services including SMS, MMS, e-mail, instant messaging with facility to attach images and audio files. The device lacks a physical keyboard, but it is not mandatory as the available one could be viewed in both landscape and portrait modes, with large buttons.
Samsung Galaxy i7500 employs microUSB, bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivities to connect with the local devices and it seems to deliver files at a faster rate. The internet browser integrated into it is standard WebKit-based app, and the web pages are loaded faster. Functions like bookmarking and history that stores most frequently visited webpages, makes web browsing faster and easier. Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy i7500 Android 1.5 Smartphone is equipped with a fast GPS. This enables the phone to download latest satellite position data. Although it is not labelled as a Google device, it comes with pre-loaded Google maps.
Samsung Galaxy i7500 has an integrated 5 mega pixels camera, with an LED flash and an auto focus facility. Even though no much extra features like colour effects, white balance or contrast settings are provided in it, the overall picture quality is found to be above average. Video capturing is also made possible with it, but the maximum resolution is only 352 X 288 pixels. The additional microphone integrated into it plays beneficial as the audio captured is louder and clearer. There are easier options to share pictures and videos with Picasa, Gmail or You Tube, but lack of options to upload them to Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket etcetera could be a little disappointment.
Samsung Galaxy i7500 5MP Android Mobile Phone has a music player that plays back files in MP3/ AMR/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC. The sound produced is loud and you have a further option to plug-in a better pair in its 3.5mm jack. FM Radio is not sported in this Samsung mobile phone, but this could be easily compensated by listening to music online. The video play back of the device cannot be said to be too good as it plays back files only in H.263/ MPEG4.
There is no much concern on the overall speed of the device. It has an in-built memory of 8GB, which could be further expanded using an external memory card. The 1500mAh battery employed in it offers up to 560 minutes of talk time on standard network, and up to 370 minutes on 3G. The stand by life is for 450 hours on standard network, and up to 340 hours on 3G. The final verdict on Samsung Galaxy i7500 android mobile phone could be summarized as a mobile phone that packs a good workmanship, with a quality display and a camera.
