Samsung B2700 Rugged Mobile Phone is a tough mobile phone manufactured by Samsung, designed for the outdoor life. Made with tough rubberised plastic casing and hard plastic paddles at the sides, this mobile phone is a bit chunky and measures 152 x 52 x 18mm, weighing 115g. The display is a 1.9” screen with 176 x 220 pixels resolution and supports 262k colours.
This Samsung mobile phone is loaded with a 2 megapixel camera with which you can take quality images. There is multi-shot that can take 6, 9 or even 15 shots. The downside of the camera is that it lacks flash and autofocus. The video capturing is average with 176 x 144 pixels at 15 fps. There’s a secondary camera in the front for video calling. It comes with a music player that supports the popular music formats like the AAC, MP3 and WMA. There is an FM radio too. Though it has an on-board memory of just 26MB, the memory can be expanded up to 8GB via microSD cards.
Samsung B2700 Bluetooth Mobile Phone comes with 3G, EDGE, GPRS and NetFront web browser that ensures high speed internet access. Hence, you can be in touch, wherever you go. The lack of GPS seems to be a downside for a mobile that is designed especially for the outdoors. It is equipped with an altimeter, compass and pedometer. The altimeter measures the altitude when you are scaling the highest peaks or soaring through the skies, the pedometer enables you to count your footsteps while jogging and walking and the compass provides safe and reliable trekking in the wild.
This mobile phone’s phonebook can store 1000 entries and it supports mobile printing and comes with Buetooth and USB connectivity. There is a torch light too in this mobile phone. Its 1300mAh battery supports talk time up to 320 hours and standby time up to 5 hours. The phone was announced in September 2008 and released in January 2009. Though there are other tough phones like the JBC ToughPhone, this one seems to be really good. This candybar phone is what it claims to be – resistant to water and dust.
