Samsung Alias2 Mobile Phone
June 9, 2009
Samsung Alias2 Mobile Phone is one among the innovative releases from Samsung recently. It is a dual hinged mobile phone that resembles an ordinary clamshell model when not in use. Once you open it, you will feel the “revolutionary Samsung touch” in it!!! Mainly targeting the US market, this phone is also known as Samsung SCH-u740 Mobile Phone. The major specifications of this phone includes 2MP camera with autofocus, 2.6” display with a display resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, a decent multimedia player, a good web browse and email client
The speciality of this phone starts right from the keypad. The keys on the keyboard are made from the E ink(Electronic Ink), which is a new technology. Although Motorola FONE has used E-ink before, this is the first time it is being used in keypad. What is so special about this E-ink to boast around? Keys can automatically change depending upon the way you hold the phone. One can get the standard number keypad and the QWERTY keyboard as well. This is much easier and clearer compared to the complicated two-way keypad introduced before.
Stereo Bluetooth support is present in this device, and it comes with microSD memory cards. Lack of Wi-fi and limited POP3 email access is the major downside of this mobile phone. The corporate email syncing is supported in this handset with the help of RemoSync. The secondary display(external one) provides info about the date, signal strength, caller ID, battery life, etc. The best part is the doubling of external display as the viewfinder for the camera lens.
Samsung Alias2 CDMA Mobile Phone is relatively boxy and sturdy when it comes to the design. It weighs around 123 grams, and is dimensioned around 4.01” x 2.04” x 0.67”. This is relatively big for a flipper. It is of high demand in US market. Since it is a pure CDMA device, it is not expected to work well in European markets. The battery life is rational with 5 hours talktime and 14days standby time.
