50 Minutes, 250 Texts, 500 MBSamsung Galaxy S is said to be a look-alike of the iphone but with a plastic case and a gun-metal grey. There are two touch sensitive buttons on the front and one home screen button. The phone gives a sleek and slim look which is great when compared to the other touch screen phones in the market.
The Display
Having a big 102 mm (4inch) screen, the handset still feels light in one's hands weighing just 119 grams. As CNET predicts the body of the mobile is not build up to withstand scratches over a period of time.
However the screen of the Galaxy is its talking point. Its a super-AMOLED screen that is reported to be great even when held against the brightest of sun lights. It also has a decent reading on the resolution that is 640x960 pixel.
Speed and Performance
The hardware of the Galaxy S is said to be fast enough. HSUPA enhances the luxury of fast web browsing over 3G while the presence of Wifi can be useful for swapping large files. Hence sharing will definitely be a glory in the mobile.
Camera and Memory
The device features a 16GB or 8GB internal memory (available in choice) to add another 32GB provided by the microSD card. This massive memory capacity definitely complements the big screen especially for those video lovers.
The phone features a 5-megapixel camera that takes decent photos in bright light. The camera is rapid and is apt for spontaneous photo capturing, but in dim light there is a need for LED light or flash.
Surfing
Surfing in the device is pretty fast with a 1GHZ processor. The different menus given make it easy and zooming, scrolling can all be done with ease. The FM on-board and the ability to work as a remote control for Samsung TVs are other features worth mentioning.
Applications
Samsung has left its applications to be handled by Android. Android being Google's software, is a treat, especially when you use google's products like gmail and the turn-by-turn assistance of google map and many other applications.
Just in case you are not a fan of downloading applications, Samsung has also pre-installed a number of applications for you to enjoy. Swype is one such interesting application.
Widget
The phone allows you to store upto seven home screens with widgets. The facebook and twitter contacts are merged with the contact addresses on your phone to make your social networking even better. Put together in all, the Samsung's widgets and its applications go together well and the number of utility features offered can only mouth water its admirers.
The only downside of this giant piece could be its lacklustre battery life. In all the Galaxy S is a good one for a smart phone and can be relished.
