The Nokia C3 is a good looking QWERTY phone available in a selection of colours. It features a variety of communication, social networking and multimedia functions the Series 40 supports.

Form & Features

The Nokia smartphone has a smooth curvy design outside. This phone has a solid bar shaped casing. It has a 2MP camera, a music player, a collection of games and the Opera Mini browser, but is on a dated OS. The phone casing measures 11.55x5.81x1.36cm and weighs 114 grams. The landscape QVGA screen is a 2.4” TFT, which displays 256k colours on 320x240 pixel resolution. The top part has the screen, below it is the navigation control key and beside it are the dedicated messaging key, call key & contact key. Beneath is the QWERTY keyboard which is gently curved horizontally, with well spaced bubble type keys and space bar for easy texting. Unlike the BlackBerry Torch 9800, this smartphone does not have a touchscreen funtion to complement. This Nokia has 50MB of internal memory which can be extended to 8GB by a MicroSD card.

Multimedia

The C3 comes pre-loaded with games, which include Diamond Rush, Bounce Tales, Blocked and Sudoku, with gaming controls. A simple 2MP camera at the back lacks an LED flash and suto-focus but has 4X digital zoom and video recording/playback too. In comparison, the colour camera on a HTC Chacha comes with a resolution of 5MP with a front VGA camera added for video calls.

The phone has a 3.5mm AV connector and supports MP3, polyphonic sounds, AAC & WMA format ring tones. The music player with easy entertainment features gives 30 hours playing time, supports MP3, WMA, AAC, eAAC+ music formats. It also has an FM radio. The Apple iPhone 4 does not have a FM radio but its superior touchscreen is a 3.5 inch wide multi-touch screen with 960 x 640 pixels supporting picture density of 326px per inch for great visuals.

Communications

The Nokia C3 cones with an Address Book that can hold 1000 contacts. It comes with many messaging services. It supports audio messaging, text messaging and email complete with attachments. Multimedia picture & video messaging such as Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger and Ovi Chat are supported. The C3 has a user friendly messaging interface. It has Multi IM, but does not support 3G.

Web support

This Nokia smartphone comes with Social Networking integration, the Opera Mini (XHTML & HTML) browser, works on quad-band GSM network and is WiFi capable. The Bluetooth or microUSB connection can be used to connect to compatible devices. It supports GPRS & EDGE technologies. You can download tracks from the Ovi Store on your PC and transfer them to your C3. Use Ovi Mail too or Gmail or YahooMail or any other POP/IMAP service.

Battery

TheBL-5J 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery when fully charged gives 8 hours of talk-time and 500 hours of standby, for your personal or business uses.
