LG Optimus Black which is expected to release sometime during the second quarter of 2011 is one of the most awaited phones on the top list of phone buffs.
The feel and look
This smart phone is super slim, measuring to 9.3 mm in thickness and beats the iPhone by just a meager difference of .1 mm i.e. the iPhone is 9.4 mm thick.
Even though it is a little thicker than the Sony Ericsson Experia, the curve gives it a great feel to hold it in your palm or even slide it into your pocket with relative ease.
It is also lighter when compared to other phones; it weighs only 109 gm which makes it more convenient to carry around.
Despite being slim and light weight, it is sturdy and doesn’t make you feel that it might snap anytime like a wafer. At the bottom you’ll find the 4 touch sensitive buttons that glow in white colour which help you to navigate around the phone’s interface. These buttons are almost present in most of the LG smart phones and have almost become a trademark as well. After all said and done, Black is a stylish and a good looking phone.
Twinkle of the Eye
LG certainly is proud of the 4” wide touch screen that may well become the best and brightest screens… ever. It comes with ‘Nova’ technology that protects and makes the screen visible even when exposed to direct sunlight by cutting off the glare. It also comes with the automatic rotate feature that helps the user to see the display horizontally or vertically as when you angle the phone.
Android- the OS
It runs on Google’s mobile operating system – Android. Kicking off with Ver. 2.2 (Froyo) which of course is not the latest by Android, but as time goes LG has promised to upgrade to the latest Ver. 2.3(Gingerbread). Anyhow, ‘Froyo’ does support flash so that you can watch all the videos and enjoy media to its full capacity without much of a glitch.
Say cheese
Yes, you guessed it right, the camera. The back camera has a decent 5 megapixel which ensure the user with high quality imaging and guess what’s the bonus? Black comes with a strong 2 megapixel front camera which is the first of its kind. This enables you to video call your loved and dear ones ensuring higher picture quality.
Power and Speed
Black is powered with a 1 GHz processor which is quite powerful to run various applications without any problem and at a good speed as well.
The battery is 1500 mAh, which again is quite decent and gives you a great stand by and talk time. Back up time regarding to media depends on the level of usage by an user and usually varies from person to person.
Storage and Media
LG Optimus Black is Wi-Fi enabled i.e. it can connect directly to any other device that has Wi-Fi within the Wi-Fi Hot Spot area. It can also be connected to other devices through Bluetooth or cable devices through the USB slot which ensures free and faster data exchange between compatible devices.
The phone has an external memory card storage option that can be extended up to a whooping 32 GB (Micro SD), now that’s a lot of space.
It is also assisted with apt web browsers and applications like the GPS system which helps the user to find the directions if you ever get lost.
Overall the sources predict that LG Optimus Black would be a hit among the users and sure will be a healthy competitor for iPhone 5 which is due to release around the same time.
