Nokia X2 Mobile Phone

For all those who feel that smartphones are really not all that smart, for those who have a special thing for Nokia and for those who wish to keep their phone simple and efficient, the Nokia X2 could come across as the most perfect handset, ever. Well, this mobile phone is nothing fancy, but its sheer simplicity and Nokia’s perfect understanding of its target audience, could make it a big success. The Nokia X2 is to be initially launched in India, but it will be just a matter of time for it to reach the rest of the world.

The Nokia X2 is a low-cost music phone that comes with a fairly decent feature set. The handset is pretty thin and lightweight with a basic 2.2” QVGA display and dedicated music keys and powerful dual speakers. It has all the right things a music buff would expect – ample memory, a reliable battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM stereo, access to Ovi Music Unlimited and most importantly, an efficient multimedia player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA formats.

This music phone supports 16GB of storage (the internal memory is about 48 MB) and is equipped with high-speed USB 2.0 and stereo Bluetooth connectivity. There’s a decent 5 MP on board that you can play around with, whose flash can also be used as a torch. The X2 is a GSM only device, there’s the Opera Mini browser and you can also access Facebook and Flickr using EDGE data. The X2 also lets you access Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat, not to mention Ovi Store.

The Nokia X2 music phone is available is the usual black/ red scheme and a refreshing silver/blue scheme. It looks quite nice, with the usual candy-bar form factor and soft keys. A phone that one can stick with for a long time and never regret having done that – that’s the Nokia X2 for you. We just hope it hits the UK soon. After all, for just £75, it offers quite a lot.
