With the launch of Nokia E55 Bluetooth Mobile Phone at the Mobile World Congress, Nokia has added another Smartphone to its ‘E’ series of mobile phones. Nokia boasts that this E55 mobile phone is the slimmest Smartphone ever. It would be available in White and Aluminium casing measuring 116.5mm x 49mm x 9.9mm. With respect to weight it will have a reasonable 98 grams. The 2.4” display will support up to 16 million colours and will have a screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It will feature automatic display rotation too.
It will come with a compact QWERTY keypad that might take some time for you to get used to it. There are short cut keys to access the features of the phone and also has side volume keys. The voice command keys invariably controls all the functions of the phone. The talk time offered by its battery is up to 8 hours of GSM and 6 hours of W-CDMA. It has a whopping standby time of 672 hours GSM and 28 days W-CDMA.
Nokia E55 Camera Mobile Phone is loaded with a 3.2 megapixel EDOF camera with 4x digital zoom, LED flash, red eye reduction and dedicated camera key. It is also equipped with features like White balance, light sensitivity, colour tone modes, etc. The PictBridge facility incorporated in the phone enables direct printing from the phone. Other imaging capabilities include Active toolbar and S60 Photo’s application. It supports video recording and video streaming.
The music features include FM radio with RDS support, stereo widening, equaliser, shuffle, album graphics display and also selection by artist, album or genre. It comes with 100MB internal memory along with support for up to 16GB memory cards. It comes loaded with HSDPA, HSUPA, GPRS, EGSM and WLAN, all of which together ensure high speed access to the internet. Its software includes Active standby, S60 3.2.3, Symbian OS 9.3, Nokia Mini Maps, FOTA, Bluetooth, Files on OVI and hands free voice UI.
Its messaging facilities include MMS, SMS, text-to-speech, and instant messaging. It also has Java gaming options. With elegant looks and great features, Nokia E55 HSDPA Mobile Phone seems to be geared towards the business class and seriously looks like a rival to the Blackberry Pearl.
