The Nokia C6 is one among the Finish telecommunication giant’s latest slew of social-networking phones that appears to be an improvement on the unlucky N97. The phone sounds really good on paper and hopefully, it’ll be the same on-hand. The Nokia C6 is a touchscreen mobile phone with a slide-out full QWERTY keypad and a horde of social networking and messaging functions.
It is a 3G device that runs on a Symbian^1 operating system. The Nokia C6 smartphone is Wi-Fi-enabled with an included email client and also supports Bluetooth version 2.0. The Nokia Mobile Phone comes with a good 5MP camera with LED flash, autofocus and 4xdigital zoom. Furthermore, there’s support to Facebook, MySpace and Hi5, not to mention the entire range of Ovi applications and other instant messaging applications.
The C6 has a 3.2” touchscreen, in which viewing web pages should be a cinch. Nokia also lets you customize the home screen with your favourite applications. Apart from the social networking functions, the Nokia C6 also has a fine set of PC applications such as Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Organizer and Lotus Notes, in addition to support for email attachments in doc, .xls, .ppt, and .pdf formats, giving the C6 a business edge.
Music-wise, the C6 is well-furnished with the Nokia Music Player that supports MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC and eAAC+ file formats. Given the 16 GB memory capacity and access to Ovi Music Store, there’s no limit to how much you can store in this device. Plus, there also is a music widget that you can place in the home screen leaving music literally at your finger tips. Priced at a reasonable £190, the Nokia should hit the markets sometime this year in blue and white schemes. It sounds nice, but there’s nothing new about it.
