As Nokia pulls back one of its hot selling Nokia 6300 Mobile Phone, one may be wondering about the replacement for that chic device. Here comes the answer; Nokia 6700 Classic 3.5G Mobile Phone. 6700 Classic is styled like 6300, and includes additional goodies like 3.5G support, GPS, 5MP camera, etc. This mobile phone mainly focuses the 6300 users who are looking for an upgrade. With decent features like 2.2 inch display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution, this monoblock is also expected to showcase a blasting success like its predecessor. The screen is slightly big compared to 6300, and is designed in such a way to suit all users.
Although, Nokia has included good range of features in this handset, it is disappointing that 6700 Classic is not a smartphone. This Series 40 device offers a good 5MP camera with auto focus and LED flash. Video recording is also possible using this camera at 15fps. Although, the geotagging is not possible in this gizmo, the digital info can be uploaded easily via Flickr and Ovi. This quad-band phone offers GSM support as well as UMTS support. It is sad that Wi-Fi is not included in this device. Since HSDPA gives a maximum download speed of 10Mbps, and HSUPA offers a good upload speed of 2Mbps, when coupled with a laptop or PC, 6700 can play the role of an effective modem.
Usual novelties like bluetooth, good media player, microSD card slot, web browser, etc. are also included in this device. One can access Nokia maps to make use of the GPS applications in Nokia 6700 5MP Camera Phone. However, for utilising advanced applications, one need to subscribe the GPS services. 6700 Classic is heavier compared to its sib. This is a “fingerprint magnet”; so one need to put extra care to keep the phone neat. Lack of standard headphone socket is yet another downside of this device. With an added 26 grams, this mobile phone weighs around 117 grams, and is moulded at 110 x 45 x 11mm. The battery life of this handset is decent with 4 hours talk time on 3G network; standby time of this phone is upto 12 days.
