Nokia 6600i Slide Mobile Phone
June 7, 2009
Nokia 6600i 5MP Camera Mobile Phone is one of the latest releases from Nokia, and comes with a lengthy list of enticing features. It is the updated version of the last year release Nokia 6600 Slide mobile phone. The only difference is the shiny case and a beefed up camera. This is a handset of high monetary value; for €200, this hand-held device offers a good collection of features. This is a 3G phone, and sports a 5MP camera with dual flash and autofocus too. This smart gizmo comes with decent multimedia player and FM radio too.
Although it features a 5MP camera, the video capturing is possible at 15fps VGA resolution or 30fps QVGA resolution, which is considerably disappointing for such high resolution cam! 6600I is not a smartphone, and thus the choices are also limited. However tap control feature of this mobile phone helps to manipulate various functionalities with the single soft tap of finger! Software of this unit is a standard set of S40 applications.

Nokia 6600i 3G Mobile Phone comes with 1GB microSD card, which can be expanded upto 16GB, and a data cable for PC connectivity. USB connectivity and Bluetooth offers good interoperability with other devices. This medium slider is quite compact, and it measures about 93 x 45 x 14mm. It weighs about 110 grams. It avails GPRS, EDGE and UMTS(3G) support, and has 2.2” display with 240 x 320 pixels. The battery life of this handset is claimed to be reasonable with 4 hours(GSM)/ 3hours(3G) talktime and 14days standby time.
One major downside of this mobile phone is the lack of 3.5G support. Nokia 6600i Slide Mobile Phone was not a much wanted model due to the lack of efficient battery, easily scratch susceptible casing, etc. Now convincing market that Nokia 6600i Slide Mobile Phone is the completely upgraded flawless model is the biggest challenge to Nokia.

Got something to say?

its beautiful but much better if there’s a wifi
I recently purchased two of these phones. It is a tragic. A very well made phone with all the functions. Very pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately like many Nokia’s it falls short in one Dept. The dept you actually bought the phone for in the first place. IT FALLS VERY SHORT IN THE PHONE DEPT. Why?
Call quality is average to mediocre especially for a mid range phone.
I have $70 Panasonic and siemens phones with Crystal clear call quality.
The speaker is on the back of the phone. So when it rings and your phone is on it’s back or on say a book you cannot hear a thing!
The speaker phone is also useless. How do you put the phone down? The mike is on the front, speaker on the back?
Call tones are far to low to be audible say driving in your car.
All in all it’s a glorified USB key. Not a phone.
Nokia needs to really wake up and realise not everyone wants a phone to take pics and play games. SOME OF US ACTUALLY WANT A PROPERLY FUNCTIONING PHONE.
Now for the best part. Emailed customer service bitching about the call quality. The reply was if I wanted crystal clear call quality I shoud have bought the N series…… …….. Last Nokia I ever buy.
when you slide the phone up the top half wiggles is it going to snap off?? and I agree why put the speaker on the back, its useless.
