There is a rumour that the next Samsung smartphone, namely, ‘Galaxy S III’, with a thickness of just 7mm is the thinnest smartphone ever to be introduced.
The thickness has been brought down from the current 8.5 mm thickness of the Samsung phones by having slimmer circuit boards and chips.
The new phone is presumed to kick-off in May.
Originally it was expected to be shown at the Mobile World Congress 2012 at Barcelona, but the company has other ideas. That means it is doubtful whether it will be released in the month of May. The enthusiasts will have to wait further.
In the meantime, an S III phone with an S shaped body was shown on a T3 website. It is claimed that the Samsung logo was also there. But the design seemed so odd that nobody will expect Samsung, at a time when it wants to launch its best phone, to have such a design.
As for specification, the assumption was that the phone will be complete with a 2GHz oe 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, 4.6 inch 720p Super AMOLED display and camera of at least 10 mega-pixels. It is likely to support 3D.
Sometime during the spring season Samsung is expected to reveal more about the phone and also the confirmed date of its launch.
