Symbian2 : A Powerful Peer For Google Android
July 18, 2009
Here is a piece of info that may be a new turning point in the mobile phone platform war!!! Nokia gears up a brand-new Symbian2 OS to beat out Android. As the OS platform competition tightened, Google released their Open Source OS named Android, and is reported to gain popularity in a short span of time. It is told that the latest Symbian2 is also an Open source mobile OS, and comes with an application store framework as well.
It is reported that Symbian Foundation has almost finished off the development of this hi-fi technology, and the beta version is expected to be released soon. According to the reports, SF has also included a framework that permits the users to develop their own application stores (likely to be named Horizon). Just like Ovi Store, the Horizon is also speculated to be a non-unilateral store in which the users can create their own applications easily.
With almost half of the smartphones across the world powered by Symbian OS, the launch of Symbian 2 open source version is expected to slow down the acceleration of Google OS dramatically.
Take a look into the video available in YouTube regarding the Symbian2 OS.

Got something to say?

Nokia is first a phone manufacturer and then a free phone OS endorser. Their first priority is to hardware and the software is for supporting the hardware. There is no competition here. Nokia just trying very hard to be independent. NOKIA just trying to be the teenager. My word of advice::: Grow up.
