Samsung Wave 2 Samsung unveils two new bada phones – The Wave 2 and Wave 2 ProSamsung launched two more mobile phones that feature the bada OS at Communic Asia 2010 yesterday. These phones, aptly named Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro represent Samsung’s efforts to compete with Nokia for a chunk of the affordable smartphones market. Both handsets will come with 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, 3.2 MP camera and a 3.2-inch touchscreen display.

Also included are A-GPS, 80MB of memory that can be expanded to up to 16GB using microSD cards and Samsung’s famed TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. There’s no 3G though, Samsung seems to have omitted that to keep the prices down. With bada, that is “powerful enough to turn your imagination into powerful applications” users can benefit from in-app-purchasing, push notification, SNS integration and what not.

The Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro will be reportedly available in Russia and South East Asia in August this year. About a UK launch, Samsung appears tight-lipped.
