RIM, AT & T and T-Mobile announced BlackBerry Bold 9700 High Resolution Smart Phone today. This mobile phone is an updated version of RIM’s first 3G handset. Besides, it is T-Mobile’s first phone to support voice call over WiFi network.
In addition to a compact keyboard, BlackBerry Bold 9700 features 624MHz processor, 256MB flash memory, a 3.2MP camera and an optical trackball. The 2.44 inches display with a high HVGA resolution (480 X 360 pixels) is a catchy specification employed in this new BlackBerry. It comes with 2GB microSD card and supports microSD card up to 32GB. The phone bundles a 3G, a WiFi and an integrated GPS connection. Unlike the first BlackBerry Bold, this phone comes with a better battery life of 16 days stand by and 7 days of talk time.
“BlackBerry Bold 9700 is for those who needs a smaller version of current Bold, yet with the same feel and performance. We are not discontinuing the current Bold model”, says Mike Lazaridis, RIM Chief Executive.
AT & T and T-Mobile are expected to launch BlackBerry Bold 9700 HVGA Resolution Smart Phone within the next few weeks. Their price rate would be 200$ with a two-year contract. UK release of BlackBerry Bold 9700 is expected in the early weeks of November, but the price of it has been kept concealed by RIM.
