NTT DoCoMo, the Japan based telecom organisation has revealed their plan to release the world’s first 4G network by 2010. DoCoMo personnel explained that they will go ahead with the 4G or Long Term Evolution(LTE) plan in the very same way as they did with 3G in 2001.

NTT DoCoMo President NTT DoCoMo Planning To Release 4G Mobile Phones By 2010

Although DoCoMo had released the 3G standards in 2001, most of the operators and mobile phone brands did not back up the W-CDMA technique at that point of time. However most of the operators later on embraced this technology isolating the DoCoMo handsets that worked only in Japan.

DoCoMo president Ryuji Yamada seems pretty confident with the LTE plan, and he disclosed that DoCoMo will move ahead with the 4G plan regardless of who backs it. 4G mobile phones are expected to deliver a download speed of abput 300Mbps which raises mobile phones a new media to “download and watch” movies!

Verizon, the US based telecom company has also announced their plans to release the 4G network next year. “Who will bell the cat?” DoCoMo or Verizon? Time will answer this question.
