mobile phone camera Mobile Phones are booting out household devices, says surveyNow that mobile phones are coming packed with almost everything one can think of, it’s obvious that the lesser devices are fast being replaced by them. A recent survey taken by a mobile phone comparison website suggests that devices such as digital cameras, calculators, alarm clocks and calendars are becoming redundant due to mobile phones.

According to the survey, 92% of those who have landline connections use only their mobile phones for making calls while 21% said that their landline connections were part of their entertainment bundle. Over half of the respondents with MP3 players said that they used their mobile phones for personal audio and 79% said that they used their handsets to snap photos instead of their mobile phones.

Of the 91% of respondents who did not possess a traditional calculator, 82% utilised the calculator of their mobile phones. 67% replied that they used their mobile handsets to record important dates instead of a calender and 26% said that they regularly put the map application of their mobile phone to use. Over half of the respondents said that they preferred a single gadget that served multiple purposes rather than several devices.
