Is The Nokia Astound Being Meted out With Similar Treatment like The Belle?
by Mobilemaniac on 10 February, 2012
The Nokia Astound being sold on T-Mobile is fundamentally the Nokia C7 which everyone seems to know about. Just for the fact that they have the same hardware components does not imply that they will be meted out the same treatment. Some time in August the difference was revealed when the Nokia C7 began receiving software upgrades to Symbian Anna, whereas the Astound got its turn only a quarter later. With the upgrades of the Nokia Belle being carried out, would it appear that the same delay would occur in the case of the Astound upgrades? However it has been made pretty clear by Nokia that T-Mobile would by no means update the Nokia Astound beyond the Anna.
A couple of days back, there was information about a certain website that Nokia had placed on the Internet that allowed consumers to determine which of the phones and which would be the countries which would be receiving the Belle upgrades and when that would happen. If you look for countries like North America and the United States on this site you would not find them. The C7 itself would be get the Belle Updates if it so happens that a person has taken back a model with him, but there is no proof that T-Mobile had decided against the probability of an upgrade. If one wishes to get that information a person would have to depend on Twitter in which the US account of Nokia has definitely stated that the Astound will not be updated to Belle. This proves that there is no point looking forward to Astound updates even after a period of three months, like what happened in the case of the Anna.
