According to a data released by GSM Association (GSMA), the people in UK spent 2.2 billion minutes browsing Facebook, using their mobile phones during December alone. This data is based on the figures collected from three of the five UK mobile network operators.
Besides, it has been found that the total number of people who accessed internet through their mobile phones during December was 16 million. When Facebook dominated the browsing chart, Google came second with a browsing time of 395 million minutes, and Microsoft bagged the third position, with 165 million minutes. The total number of pages browsed by the mobile phone users were 6.7 billion.
Reportedly, major 3G mobile networks in UK are said to falter under the strain of this data traffic from smartphone users. This trend is also predicted as a boon to the mobile advertising market. Advertisers are keen to target the consumers via the mobile phones.
