Elite Mobile, the first distributor to launch own-branded handset

Middlesex-based mobile distributor has launched own-brand handset. Variety of Own-branded mobile phones has been launched by the mobile distributor, Elite Mobile. It is expected that the distributor is going to produce an Android-powered device shortly.

The phone was manufactured by a third party but the distributor is not willing to disclose the manufacturer’s name. All devices will appear under the company’s Fonerange brand. A spokesman of the distributor said that Fone Talk & Text and Fone Easy devices have become part of their business stream and they are targeting the value end of the mobile market. Claire Duffield, the Marketing director of Elite Mobile said that the firm is planning to sell the devices through dealers, independent mobile phone shops and catalogues.

She said that the firm noticed a gap in the market and thought of utilizing that opportunity by bringing its own device. There is demand for these products and as we are dealing with our own products we can have our own specifications and offer great value at a competitive price.

Fone Easy is with a large keypad, volume buttons and a large font display. The phone features an SOS button and a torch. It carries an RRP of 29.99 Pounds. The Fone Talk & Text device has an RRP of 39.99 Pounds and it features a QWERTY key board, a speaker, LED torch and a camera. The Bluetooth functionality is available in the quad-band phone. Both devices are in black and white.

The Marketing director said that the Fone Easy is apt for the elderly market and Talk & Text is for anyone. She talked about the future plan of the company to manufacture a range of devices that would cater to the needs of everyone. She said that at present the company is working on an android powered handset. The company expects to display the new phones along with other Fonerange product portfolio, later this month at the Mobile World in Barcelona

Wayne Langford, the director of Trade at Elite Mobile said that the new Fonerange devices offer the customers choice, flexibility and great value. The success of the Fonerange brand has led to the manufacture of the new handsets. The director concluded that already the handsets compliment the existing range of accessories and in the near future a portfolio of handsets will be brought in.
