old mobile phones Britons do not part with old mobile phonesA survey conducted by ‘The Recycling Factory‘ found out that 68 percent of Britons had atleast one mobile phone that they did not use in a dusty corner at home. It also showed that more than half of Brits did so despite the knowledge of the fact they would never use them again. Eighty two percent of users said that they exchanged their old mobile phones for a newer, better model every two years.

According to a spokesperson from The Recycling Factory, this could mean that there are over 90 million mobile phones lying unused in the dark recesses of drawers in the UK. The spokesperson also indicated that in a mobile phone’s average life span of seven years, most users changed about three to four handsets.

Well, now that this is revealed, most of us could end up smiling cheekily with, “Hey, so I’m not the only bloke with an one-time mobile in the bureau afterall!” Old is gold, ain’t it?!
