HTC Pure is a premier Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone and could be said to be a variant of HTC Imagio & HTC Diamond2. With a dimension 110mm X 53.4mm X 14.9mm, HTC Pure is bit longer than HTC Imagio. But, it is quite comfortable with any hands and fits seamlessly into any pocket. This glossy smartphone employs a 3.2 inches display of resolution 480 X 800 pixels that supports 62K colours. This touch sensitive display requires no much pressure or precision and is highly responsive. Its built-in accelerometer will automatically change the orientation of mobile phone from portrait to landscape on rotation.
HTC Pure 3G Mobile Phone features QWERTY keyboard for input. Both landscape mode and portrait mode are available in it. It is found to be pretty easy to use, but those with big thumb may find some problems with it as only very less space is left between the keys. The buttons provide a vibration once the inputs have been registered. As per its interface, HTC Pure features TouchFLO 3D interface. In an effort to make the Windows Mobile more user-friendly, more spacing is provided between the icon to reduce the wrong presses. Certain short cuts including the one for MSN money, search, MyPhone and Marketplace are available in it.
The new lock screen that provides information on the upcoming appointments, missed calls, messages, date, time and more is another asset with this HTC smartphone’s interface. The user have an option of using Opera Mobile or Internet explorer for web browsing. Opera mobile seems to load up sites faster and re-arrange pages to suit the screen. Moreover, HTC Pure comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Mobile Suite and hence the user can view Microsoft documents in it. The contacts storage is limited in par with the available memory. But it enables the user to store multiple numbers and other details including e-mails, birthdays and more. Users can view the contact’s status updates, about the messages and mails exchanged with him in the recent past. The overall search option of the mobile phone itself is remarkable.
Regarding its connectivity, HTC Pure is 3G capable, Wi-Fi and bluetooth enabled. There is an AT & T Navigator, which provides the user with voice-guided navigation. A 5 Mega pixels camera is integrated into it and this comes with some camera settings including white balance, brightness controls, ISO, resolution and image quality options. There is a provision to capture video, but the video clips are find to be little blurry. And no much complaints about its media player. It supports all popular file formats and playback excellently.
Overall, HTC Pure 5MP Smartphone exhibits a good performance with clear call quality and fast progress with its 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7201A Processor. Its battery offers a talk time of 5.6hours GSM and 15 days stand by time.
