HTC HD Mini Mobile Phone

The HTC HD Mini is part of the cliched tradition of launching mini versions of handsets that made it big. As the little brother of our favourite HTC HD2, this HTC mobile phone has a lot to prove. After all, equipped with the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system the big boy has shown that he’s very capable. How many heads will his mini version turn? Well, we’re going to have to wait till April for that, though.

This HTC HD Mini Smartphone mirrors quite a lot of features of the HD2. To start off with, it is equipped with GPS and a digital compass and runs on a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system. The handset makes use of the HTC Sense user interface and houses a 5MP camera with auto-focus. The display is a 3.2” HVGA touchscreen, unlike the 4.3” 480 x 800 pixel display of the HD2 we simply loved. Oh, well something’s got to be cut down. Talking of cut down, the HD Mini has just a  600MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor unlike the immensely powerful  1GHz processor of it’s bro.

The HTC HD Mini is a 3.5G device and supports Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi. The mobile handset is equipped with Windows Media Player, a 3.5mm audio socket and also supports social networking. Furthermore, this mobile phone has 384 MB of RAM and the memory can be expanded to a massive 32 GB with the help of MicroSD cards. Adding more flavour to it are the likes of the animated weather wallpaper that can reflect the weather of the place one is present in and the ringer that can mute itself when the handset is flipped face down and HTC Footprints.

Verdict:
The HTC HD Mini appears really promising. Well equipped and well designed, we’re probably looking at a straight winner.
