Nokia N97 Mini Mobile Phone
October 18, 2009
How many of us live under the shadow of an elder sibling? Too many to take stock, right? Nokia, the ever daring has come out fearlessly with a younger brother to the celebrated N97 – The Nokia N97 mini. Perhaps given birth to compensate the N97’s bulkiness, its mini version is more than 10grams lighter. Starting with the camera, the N97 Mini sports a top notch 5-megapixel camera capable of recording DVD-quality video with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus and dual LED flash. Though you might miss the N97’s memory of 32GB, the fact that Mini’s 8GB can be expanded is good enough. You can store a good lot of videos and images even without the need of microSD cards, actually.
This bro of the N97 is equipped very well in the navigation front. Ovi Maps and A-GPS being the reason. So incase you suffer from Mazeophobia, this handset could well be your métier! The touch screen display measures about 3.2” across which tilts to give way to a full QWERTY keyboard. The size of the screen makes web browsing a sheer delight, with the web-pages displayed is full across the display. Also, browsing is fast using the 3G connection with HSPDA high-speed data or Wi-Fi. You can also customise your home screen, adding short cuts of your choice.

Nokia Mural Mobile Phone
October 17, 2009
Clamshell mobile phones with a decent feature set are aplenty in the market today. Remember the good old Moto RAZR and how we completely fell in love with it? Well, today’s mobile phone in the spotlight, the Nokia Mural also known as Nokia 6750 looks so much like Moto RAZR that you tend to raise your eyebrows with, “Hey from when did Nokia start making RAZR?”, only to be nudged with, “This handset looks like the Moto RAZR but its completely different, silly. Now hush and don’t make a fool of yourself!” So, what’s all the talk about the looks of the 6750, is that what you’re asking? Well, for a start it has a glossy silvery finish with a semi-hidden external display that glows appealingly. As far as looks are concerned, the Nokia Mural scores very well.
This Nokia 3.5G clamshell mobile phone is a quad-band GSM device with tri-band UMTS 850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz and is GPS enabled. The handset’s camera is no big deal, it’s a basic 2 megapixel one with VGA video capture. The internal display is about 2.2″ with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. Outside, its a 1.36” monochrome LCD of 128 x 160 pixels. The hinge doesn’t look all that sturdy, though. But what the heck, no clamshell is sturdy enough to bank on completely. The keyboard is flat, with a ‘Motorola-ish’ kick at the bottom. Tsk tsk.
Available exclusively on the AT&T network in the US, this handset has a 70MB built-in expandable memory (up to 32GB using the microSD card slot.) The Nokia Mural is currently available in the US for $250 which is almost £155.5, making it fairly inexpensive. For the price and the fact that it has GPS, this Nokia clamshell seems pretty alright. There is no word about its entry into the European markets, though. (Sigh!)
