Now that life without mobile phones has almost been ruled out even in the law books, its high time you roped your kids into the circle too. (If you already haven’t, of course!) To start off with, the handset’s external dimensions stand at 107 x 44 x 16mm and it sports a 1.5” colour display. The responsive keypad is suitable to the touch of tiny fingers and is “electro-luminescent morphing” which means it can switch between functions such as video controller, MP3 player and game controller, apart from number pad automatically.

This mobile phone for kids is equipped with PIN protected user controls that gives parents the ability to not just restrict messaging, but also the incoming and outgoing calls to just the numbers that are stored in the phone book. Parents can also prevent additional numbers from being added to the phone book. The Firephone also comes with a camera, built-in games, calender, loudspeaker and wallpapers. Designed to give parents/guardians peace of mind, the Firefly Flyphone could be the most adept kid’s best friend.

Verdict:
The Firefly FlyPhone is well…good. But it raises a lot of questions. Do kids actually need mobile phones? Now that’s a matter of opinion.
