The latest ‘Gold Spot’ cinema ad of Orange features Jack Black
August 28, 2010
The latest ‘Gold Spot’ cinema ad of Orange, features Jack Black and will launch today in cinemas across the UK.
The new ad features the Hollywood actor in a spoof trailer of soon-to-be released Gulliver’s Travels.
The trailer recreates Gulliver waking up after a shipwreck in Lilliput, where he finds himself pinned down by an army of tiny captors before comedy style ‘blatant Orange branding’ starts to appear.
Gulliver then calls for ‘time out’ when he realises an Orange phone shop has been set up on the beach in Lilliput, arguing that ‘just because I didn’t read the script doesn’t mean you can slip me into a commercial’.
Ignoring him, the director shouts ‘we’re still rolling’ and while Gulliver launches into a speech about film integrity, the army of small people re-capture Gulliver. Gulliver’s protest ends with: ‘We need to nail this scene…that means no cell phone selling…and you know what Mr Orange corporate man, I’m not your puppet.’
Orange’s last Gold Spot advert featured the cast of the recently released A Team.

August 25, 2010
Intel and Nokia will be soon setting up a new research centre in Finland in order to concentrate on developing the user friendly devices starting with 3D. The site is a part of broader partnership between the two companies and will base on 3D user interface technology. Researchers ensured that the 3D services available on mobile phones would not require the use of separate glasses.
A joint software venture was announced by Intel and Nokia in February, named MeeGo. The pair said that the joint venture today seems to make a big difference in improving Nokia’s position at the top of the handset market and that the venture has taken a positive start.
MeeGo is based on Linux open source software that blends Linux Maemo software platform of Nokia with Intel’s Moblin. The Symbian operating system of Nokia is obvious to take up a tough competition with Google Andriod and Apple.

Amazon revealed the price of HTC Desire HD
August 19, 2010
The HTC Desire HD is conceived to be launched sometime in September and yesterday Amazon cast the mobile up on its site shortly.
Whether it was a fault or not it has now been taken out from the site but not before the world saw that it will cost £415 SIM-Free, which appears to be a quite reasonable price.
The HTC Desire HD, a high-spec mobile equips a 4.3 inch touch-screen, 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor and an 8 mega-pixel camera which will record HD video. It will also support playback of HD videos which codecs for Xvid and it will have surround sound.
The HTC Desire HD will launch on Android 2.2 and could perhaps be upgraded to Android 3.0 in the future. This mobile will no doubt be aiming to compete with the Apple iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S and we see no reason why it won’t be hugely successful.
