Samsung Genio Pro Mobile Phone
October 5, 2009
If you liked the funky and young Samsung S3650 Genio, then the Samsung Genio Pro 3.5G Mobile Phone will not have a tough time impressing you. Looking like a big brother of the S3650, the Genio Pro is apparently aimed at young professionals. The S3650’s splash of colour is carried on to this mobile phone too, as it has colourful interchangeable backplates to suit your taste. This handset features a stylish metallic red slide-out QWERTY keyboard which obviously indicates that it is a messaging device. The Genio Pro has a 2.8″ touchscreen display and works on Samsung’s Touchwiz operating system. The device has a 3.2 megapixel camera which appears to be a pretty decent affair.
Samsung Corby Pro B5310 (known so outside the UK) has downloading speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, hinting at a super-fast, gratifying web browsing experience. WiFi support will further fuel up the speed. Furthermore, the Pro has WLAN, GPS and HSDPA connectivity. In addition, there is support to Quad-band GPRS and EDGE technology. This phone houses FM Radio, MP3 player and a 3.5mm jack plug. This along with the 100MB of internal memory that is expandable to about 16GB using MicroSD cards sums up an enjoyable musical experience. And ofcourse, social networking. This mobile phone does not leave that out too. Sites like MySpace and Facebook can be accessed with ease, and one can also send updates to multiple sites like Flickr, Blogger and LinkedIn at the same time.
The handset could fill the bill perfectly for an easy going youngster who likes a bit of colour in everything. It measures about 105 x 57 x 16mm and the battery specified is a not-so-huge 960 mAh one. Overall, it looks like the Samsung Genio Pro will emerge a winner, but one cannot be sure as shooting about that, as we do not know the exact price as yet. This mobile phone is to be available in the UK from November. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed!
Nokia 6350 Mobile Phone
October 3, 2009
Simple and featureful, the Nokia 6350 3G Mobile Phone looks neat and sturdy. Announced by AT&T, there’s nothing much to comment on the looks except that it doesn’t look clumsy. It is a clamshell phone with a basic 2 MP camera. The internal display is a rather simple 2″ QVGA one; an external display with a 128 x 160 pixel resolution is also present, below which there are a set of dedicated media keys. The handset functions on Nokia’s simple non-smartphone operating system and there is also an addition of AT&T specific applications. One can expect the usual goodies like a built-in web browser, email support and music player.
The handset is pretty light at just 103 grams, one just hopes that the hinge is sturdy enough to endure our endless flips. This gizmo has GPS along with AT&T’s Navigator and Video Share which makes you sit up and take notice. (Did I say this phone was simple?) There are dedicated music keys and the memory is expandable using a microSD card, both of which could make the 6350 a choice for music buffs.
The Nokia 6350 camera mobile phone has a 1050 mAh battery which is quoted to give a talktime of 4 hours on 3G and a 14 day standby time. Along with 3G, this device also supports 850, 1900 and 2100 MHz WCDMA hinting that globe-trotters can use it with ease. Available in graphite and red, the 6350 will be available from October 4 on the AT&T network for 29.99 USD after a mail-in rebate.
Samsung B3310 Mobile Phone
October 1, 2009
Looks can be deceiving: This is what I kept reminding myself when I first set eyes on the Samsung B3310. This phone looks a bit er…unappealing. But come on, lets see what you’ve got. Saying this I went on to explore the features of this handset. The Samsung B3310 camera mobile phone is pretty basic. It is a GSM device with a basic 2MP camera with QVGA video recording and a 2” display of a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. It has a slide out QWERTY keypad that is well-spaced and is easy to use. The column of number keys that runs along the handset’s body looks like set of teeth, atleast teeth are easier to use than these garish keys!
Fine, lets not be extra mean and get along to the features of this ugly-duckling. This device supports EDGE, GPRS and Bluetooth 2.1 , though it lacks 3G. MP3 player, FM radio and stereo Bluetooth are all present, so music is a decent affair. Plus the microSD expandable memory option along with the 40MB internal memory only makes things better. Social dudes and dudettes (who are not turned off by the looks) will find this gizmo’s support to social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Picasa, Flickr and Photobucket appealing. Access to these is easy for, the B3310 has shortcuts for most of them.
The handset also supports email and measures 91 x 54 x 17mm with a weight of 101 grams. Text messaging and social networking appears to be this gadget’s forte, given the QWERTY keypad and quick access. The battery is pretty good with a quoted standby time of 380 hours. The Samsung B3310 is now available in the UK with for a cost of £99.95 for the handset. The bottom line is, this ugly-duckling is nothing special, but considering the price, there could be a few takers.
LG GD510 “Pop” Mobile Phone
September 30, 2009
My, does LG have style or what! Coming in the form of the GD510, or better, ‘Pop’ is a touchscreen phone that looks so darn stunning that you simply want to own it even if it turns out to be a poor fish. This mobile phone has a brushed aluminum body and is sleek with a regal air. Once you’ve gotten over the spell cast by the looks, you might have a feeling that maybe you’ve over estimated this gadget. To start with the basic features that this mobile phone offers, it has a 3” WQVGA touchscreen and a 3 MP camera. According to LG, Pop is designed for those who desire a ’simple touchscreen phone.’
Incase you’ve felt crammed with the high-end touchscreen phones that come with a wide array of ‘confusing’ features, then the GD510 could be your able crony. The handset sports an internal memory of 8GB, 3.5mm headphones jack and is capable of playing movies and music of most of the popular file formats. Internet browsing will apparently be as easy affair, with the GD510’s built-in browser.
This gleaming gizmo houses an all-in-all button in the front that can function as the menu, end or cancel. The LG GD510 “Pop” is expected to hit the European markets by October. All but the lack of 3G sounds fine. Is LG taking the ’simplicity’ motto too seriously? Hopefully, the price will not be too ‘grand’!

Officially announced in Seoul, Korea, this mobile phone will be on sale in the Korean markets from early October.
The Samsung AMOLED 12M has Touch Auto-Focus tracking that is present in most digital cameras. This feature lets the camera automatically follow the target after you select the focus point. The camera of this mobile phone is unbelievable! It can change the scene and mode automatically depending on the target, background and lighting conditions. The Samsung SCH-W880 is technology redefined. Apart from the 3x optical zoom, the phone houses an advanced 3.3 inch AMOLED full touch screen with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
