HTC Dream Mobile Phone

The news of HTC Dream has stirred up anticipation and hype similar to that of Apple iPhone. HTC Dream Touchscreen Mobile Phone boasts to be a contender to the the Apple iPhone. It would run on Google’s operating system – Android. It would have all the improved smartphone features. When compared to the iPhones stunning design, HTC Dream seems to be a bit outdated. The display would be 3.2” touchscreen that would react to touch by fingers only and not by stylus. It does not enable multi-touch gestures like the iPhone. Navigating the applications would have been much easier if it supported multi touch gestures. The screen does not rotate to landscape mode when it is turned sideways.

This mobile phone would also have a slide out QWERTY keypad. It is a great phone for Google users. It would come equipped with 3G and wifi that enables easy synchronization with the personal computer. It has good and easy to use user interface. It seems to be better in terms of forwarding text messages. You can cut and paste messages and even send and receive multimedia messages. You can view documents in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and pdf but the downside is that you cannot edit these files.

Its battery is expected to support 5 hrs talk time and standby time up to 5 days. The battery of HTC Dream Camera Mobile Phone is user replaceable. You need not take it to its customer care centre. This mobile phone is designed with microSD slot that supports memory cards up to 8GB. It would be incorporated with HSDPA7.2 ensuring high speed downloads.

This Smartphone’s music player would support MIDI, WAV, AMR, WMA, M4A, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis formats. The music player is average and it cannot be a replacement for your iPod. The imaging feature of this mobile phone is its 3.2megapixel camera, with which you can take stills only, no video recording function is available. The other features of this quad band phone include speaker phone, conference calling, speed dial and voice dialing.

When compared with the Apple iPhone, the HTC Dream has certain advantages and also some limitations. Hence, it is too soon to predict the future of this mobile phone, whether it will outshine the iPhone or not, only time will tell.
