BlackBerry Bold 9650 Mobile Phone
April 27, 2010
Smiling the grand Blackberry smile, the 9650 on first look, reminds you of the year old BlackBerry Bold 9700. This mobile phone supports the CDMA/EVDO networks in North America and the GSM/UMTS networks elsewhere. Design-wise, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is a replica of the 9700 – it has a 2.44” display with a glossy black finish and a few stylish chrome highlights and the usual full QWERTY keypad.
This BlackBerry kin has an optical trackpad and also comes with built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, not to mention Bluetooth 2.1. The 9650 sports a 3.2 MP camera with all the goodies such as flash, image stabilization, video recording, auto focus, built-in GPS and geo-tagging thrown in. This Blackberry smartphone also houses a full HTML web browser, the BlackBerry Media Sync, which as we know is simply wonderful to play with. Using it, you can sync all your favourite Windows Media® Player music and iTunes music in no time.
The BlackBerry Bold 9650 Mobile Phone also supports BlackBerry® Messenger and push email which can come in handy at times. The handset has an internal flash memory of about 512 MB which can of course be expanded using microSD cards. (The device ships with a 2 GB card.) All sounds good, but we cannot help but feel a little bored with the 9650 – there’s nothing all that path breaking about it. Is it old wine in a new bottle? (Even the bottle isn’t bran new!) It can’t be denied that Blackberry has added a few sparks here and there, forgive us, but is that all?
This smartphone of Blackberry’s will be available in the US on Sprint from May 23 for an equivalent of £130 after a £65 mail-in rebate. We don’t have any info on a UK launch as yet, though.

Accessories and Apps for BlackBerry at CES 2010
January 11, 2010
Behold BlackBerry users! The recent CES 2010 show, which marked its cessation yesterday showcased some new accessories and applications for BlackBerry. Here are some of them that can truly enhance your buddy.
Radiation-Proof Case for Blackberry

The concern about the health issues due to the radiation emitted by mobile phone still remains to be a controversial one. Relatively, majority of the researches highlight the chance of cancer due to the radiations.
Here comes Pong, with a new mobile phone case that can reduce the the radiation beamed into the users’ head. The technology behind this case may slightly bewilder you, but it is quite interesting. The Pong case comes with a secondary antennae, which attracts the radiations towards it, and then directs it away to the closest base station rather than to the users’ head. This can reduce the radiation that beams into the head by 60 percent. And no worry on the call reception quality! It maintains the full signal strength, enabling you to have an efficient communication.
Currently, this module has been destined for BlackBerry Curve, and the cases for other BlackBerry handsets will be launched soon.

The new BlackBerry Presenter will help you to deliver Microsoft Powerpoint presentations directly from your Blackberry mobile phone. Simply plug the presenter to a projector or a monitor, and press ‘Present Slide’ option from your BlackBerry smartphone. It supports Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 and 2007 versions most accurately.
There are some features such as ‘Freeze Mode’ to freeze a slide on the screen, while you browse through the rest of the slides and ‘Loop mode’ to set time between the slides. Besides, BlackBerry Presenter has bluetooth connectivity as well.
The accessory that is compatible with BlackBerry Bold 9700, BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Curve 8500 series, BlackBerry 8900 and Blackberry Tour is set to launch in February, at a cost of £125.
