It is sure that the Telefonica owned operator will not be happy to slice their magical pie into three equal pieces! According to the recent reports, it is made clear that the “exclusive deal” between Apple and O2 is going to end by October 9th this year.
Although, the distribution deal between Apple and O2 is valid till 2012, the privilege of being the sole operator who sells iPhone is only for a short span of two years. It was reported that T-Mobile and Orange are buying sim-free Apple iPhone 3G from the retailers to sell when they get a share of iPhone distribution. It is buzzed around that O2 will have to slice their delicacy with T-Mobile and Orange by coming October. Orange and T-Mobile are selling iPhones in other parts of Europe. However, it is heard that the exclusive deal on the latest Apple iPhone 3GS is still valid for O2.
It was also rumoured that T-Mobile is supplying iPhone to their high spending “selected customers” flouting the exclusive Apple and O2 agreement in the UK.
