Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro Mobile Phone

March 12, 2010

sony-ericsson-vivaz-proPresenting the Vivaz Pro, another ‘coming soon’ mobile phone from Sony Ericsson that could give the high-end mobile phones of Nokia a run for their money. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is stuffed with several interesting features, some of which like HD video recording are truly exceptional.

The handset, which is available in black and white options looks very elegant, and the slide-out QWERTY keypad takes it a step higher. The black version could be pretty safe to opt for, but we like the white version better – you know, we’re always for combinations that bring out a striking contrast. The keypad is a grey one with well-spaced out black buttons which ought to make messaging comfortable. The dimensions stand at 109.0 x 52.0 x 15.0 mm and the gadget weighs a little over 117g. The screen is a spacious 3.2” 360 x 640 pixel one, the very thought of which brings a smile of relief on our faces – Ah! Browsing has got to be comfy.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro QWERTY keyboard mobile phone boasts an able 5MP camera (wonder why the 8MP camera of the Vivaz has been cut down) with flash, auto focus and 4x digital zoom. Adding more fizz to the camera are face and smile detection and geo-tagging. Now this here is one dandy camera, huh? Of course, its not as good as that of Vivaz’s, but still. In the connectivity department, Vivaz Pro is provided with 3.5G and WiFi, apart from Bluetooth.

Here comes the interesting part for which we’ve been for – the juicy feature set of the Vivaz Pro. The device is compatible with YouTube and Facebook and sports a  PlayNow service that can render entertainment before the wink of an eye. The built-in GPS with Google Maps and Wayfinder is an added advantage, so is the Media Go entertainment organiser. There also is a dedicated video key lets you show-off the HD video you just caught to the entire world in a jiffy.

Motorola Quench Mobile Phone

March 5, 2010

Motorola Quench Mobile PhoneQuench your thirst for social networking, messaging, high-speed internet and all the luxuries that only an Android smartphone can provide for – Motorola Quench is here. Or is almost here. Touted to be available in the first quarter of 2010, the Quench doesn’t simply sound cool, it actually is. The phone is equipped with Motoblur – Motorola’s widget based user interface that provides the user access to social networking sites such as Twitter, MySpace & Facebook along with Gmail from the home screen. The combination of Motoblur and Swype, an input method for touchscreens makes messaging as easy as it can get.

The Motorola Quench Android Mobile Phone has a 3.1” touchscreen display with a 320x 480 pixel resolution with a central touch pad. Surfing across the world wide web through the Android HTML Webkit browser of Quench should indeed be a walk in the park. The music player of Quench is another specialty that can be connected  to the internet and the social networking sites of your preference. This makes it possible for you to download and purchase from any MP3 store that you choose to.

Now for the camera of Quench – its a 5MP device with autofocus and of course LED flash. Furthermore, this handset comes with 3.5G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity (these terms have become clichés these days!) and the Android version supported is 1.5 (yes, its a surprise that a more advanced version like 1.6 is not included) As far as appearances go, the Motorola Quench is quite a good-looker with a sturdy build. Motorola had no information on pricing, but our guess is that it cold come up to £275, may be even lesser.

Verdict:
Motorola Quench has everything one would look for in a smartphone – An Android OS, large touchscreen, Motoblur, 3.5G  support, a superb camera and music player. In short, it has all the makings of a winner.

February 27, 2010

nokia-n97-mini-goldAre you the one who simply fell in love with the Nokia N97 Mini? Do you mind dipping the darn thing in liquid gold? No? Then we have something that’ll interest you – The Nokia N97 mini Gold. Strictly for a dude in black pinstripe designer suit made by Dolce & Gabbana, this mobile phone comes with an 18 carat gold case that simply gleams.

Beneath all that glimmer is the good old Nokia N97 Mini with the 3.2” 360 x 640p touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The internal memory present is about 8GB which can be expanded to a total of 24GB using the microSD slot. The device comes with an efficient 5MP camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics and runs on a Symbian S60 operating system just like it’s poorer twin. All else stand the same, including the 3G HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Nokia N97 Mini Gold however has a special application called “ELLE 360Fashion” for fashion lovers that can keep them updated of everything latest in the industry. There also is another exciting application for social networking buffs namely Pixelpipe that lets you access almost 100 of such sites. Nokia Photo Browser also comes included with this gold mine. HTC HD Mini Mobile Phone

February 27, 2010

htc-hd-miniThe HTC HD Mini is part of the clichéd tradition of launching mini versions of handsets that made it big. As the little brother of our favourite HTC HD2, this mobile phone has a lot to prove. After all, equipped with the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system the big boy has shown that he’s very capable. How many heads will his mini version turn? Well, we’re going to have to wait till April for that, though.

This HTC smartphone mirrors quite a lot of features of the HD2. To start off with, it is equipped with GPS and a digital compass and runs on a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system. The handset makes use of the HTC Sense user interface and houses a 5MP camera with auto-focus. The display is a 3.2” HVGA touchscreen, unlike the 4.3” 480 x 800 pixel display of the HD2 we simply loved. Oh, well something’s got to be cut down. Talking of cut down, the HD Mini has just a  600MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor unlike the immensely powerful  1GHz processor of it’s bro.

The HTC HD Mini is a 3.5G device and supports Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi. The mobile handset is equipped with Windows Media Player, a 3.5mm audio socket and also supports social networking. Furthermore, this mobile phone has 384 MB of RAM and the memory can be expanded to a massive 32 GB with the help of MicroSD cards. Adding more flavour to it are the likes of the animated weather wallpaper that can reflect the weather of the place one is present in and the ringer that can mute itself when the handset is flipped face down and HTC Footprints.

Verdict:
The HTC HD Mini appears really promising. Well equipped and well designed, we’re probably looking at a straight winner.

HTC Legend Mobile Phone

February 21, 2010

htc-legendHTC Legend is one among the three Android mobile phones announced at the MWS 2010. The big brother of Hero, HTC Legend Android Mobile Phone is all about class and functionality. The phone has everything – good looks, a neat OS, interesting applications, generous memory and what not. Coming in a combination of black and aluminum, this handset is supposedly carved out of a single piece of aluminum. Cool, huh? But wait, before you wonder if the metal would obstruct the signal, let me add that all the important sections are housed inside the black plastic casing, a move that does a lot for the aesthetics as well

This latest hand set from HTC is sports the same 3.2” display that Hero had, but the trackball is a funky optical one that has a clickable surround. Furthermore, the HTC Legend 3.5G Mobile Phone supports WiFi and Bluetooth, apart from USB connectivity. The usual additions such as FM Radio, multimedia player and 3.5mm audio socket. The handset comes with a 600 MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor and has an ample internal memory of 384MB which can also be extended using MicroSD cards.

“Friend Stream” is an interesting feature that forms an assemblage of updates of friends from social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and many more. Legend is equipped with an advanced 5MP camera that comes with geo-tagging along with flash and autofocus. Can’t wait to get your hands on this phone? Well, you might have to wait for a few months, for it’s slated to be released sometime around the first quarter. And if you can’t wait that long, you can check out our mobile phone deals for something as good as Legend itself, or may be even better.

Verdict:
HTC Legend is legendary – This pretty much sums it up.
