An Innovative battery saving Mode Being Introduced in the BlackBerry OS 7.1
by Mobilemaniac on 9 February, 2012
People are often caught unawares with some of the novel features that are introduced to the BlackBerry OS by RIM. In fact some of these introductory features are nothing great, but RIM have a knack of introducing new ones as part of ROMs and invariably people hear of it before it is actually introduced. This is the same thing that occurred when the Blackberry OS 7.0.1.74 was launched for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 in the fall of the previous year. In fact this feature was a good backing for a Wi-Fi hotspot mode. In the same way there is news of a new BlackBerry feature which the company has introduced the battery saving mode in OS 7.1.0.247.
This news of this upgrade came out the day before for the Bold 9790. Those people who already had the Bold 9790 who chose to install the feature began looking around for differences and were happy to find that the battery saving facility had been added in the device settings.
Similar type of system has been found on other interfaces where a specific remaining charge cut-off level is determined. Once specified, the smartphone would begin to save energy in overdrive when the battery level falls below the level and will hopefully keep the battery going till the owner is able to recharge it.
Even since it has been evolved, this mode has been found in other gadgets running-in development builds of 7.1 which would also include the Bold 9900.
