first else smartphone First ELSE SmartPhoneELSE Ltd, which was formerly known as Emblaze Mobile unveiled their first smartphone to the world. Dubbed as First ELSE  SmartPhone, it is a stunning launch and it could be a mistake if we call it just a mobile phone. Capable of performing a number of connected roles, it is centred around the user’s experience rather than the phone itself.

A glance on its hardware reveals that is equipped with fairly typical specifications. With a dimension of 115.6mm X 56.6mm X 13mm, it has an average measurement, probably a little longer. The size of the display screen it incorporates is around 3.5 inches, which has a resolution of 854 X 480 pixels. This fast responsive capacitive touch screen provides vivid images. Overall, the display of First ELSE is excellent.

The connectivities employed in First ELSE Smartphone include UMTS/HSDPA, quad band GSM with EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Besides, a 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB are employed in it. It has a 5 mega pixels camera, but it lacks any flash. GPS is the next feature employed in it that makes it suitable for navigation purpose. A whopping 32GB of in-built memory is another factor where First ELSE impress you, but further expansion is not possible as there is no microSD memory card slot for it.

A glimpse on First ELSE’s interface, may make you open up your mouth and say ‘Wow’. It comes with Access Linux Platform, with a user interface known as ELSE Intuition. With this user interface, the concept of ‘main menu’ has changed completely. To elaborate, you have a number of different styles to operate the menu. There is a  diamond style that access major application groups, and there is a sPlay that is designed for single right-hand thumb operation. But, it could perfectly suit the left-handed folks too.

Short cut touch buttons scrolling on the right hand side of the phone is another attraction in First ELSE, giving you access to cross-platform search, menu and up/down navigation. Moreover, both online search and device search is integrated into a single area. The processor employed in it it TI OMAP 3430 Processor, which was earlier seen in Palm Pre.

Furthermore, there is a not much heard feature called ‘Silent Communication‘ employed in First ELSE. It enables you to make your phone into an automated call centre. To be more precise, you can ‘press * for emergency’ or ‘press # to call back later’. Such responses could be send to the caller if you can’t attend his/her call.

To conclude, with such interesting specifications, First ELSE is designed with a different approach from the normal smartphones. Since ultimately joining the competitive smartphone market, First ELSE has claimed to deliver the best of all features. Let us wait till Spring 2010 before we say something on it.
