Samsung S5350 Shark Mobile Phone
January 31, 2010
If you are not eccentric about flaunting with the hi-fi of a smartphone, yet need to get a mobile phone with medium features, an appealing design and an affordable price tag, then Samsung S5350 Shark Mobile Phone is for you! It has come up with a ‘well-done’ classic, candy bar design and a metallic back cover that can definitely sparkle your eyes. The dimension of 4.54 inches X 1.84 inches X 0.47 inches, and the weight of 99 grams provides this Samsung mobile phone a solid feel, when you hold it in your hands.
Samsung S5350 Shark Mobile Phone has a 2.2 inches TFT display of QVGA resolution that supports 256K colours. The overall appeal of the images and videos displayed is attractive. This mobile handset works in quad band GSM network. Samsung S5350 has given emphasis to social networking, by providing support to major social networking websites, chat clients and so on. But, the lack of an automated e-mail set up is a pitfall in it. Relatively, the web pages are loaded faster, but the visual appearance of the pages cannot be said to be prominent.
For capturing photographs, there is a 3.2 mega pixels camera in Samsung S5350 Shark GSM Mobile Phone. Certain camera options such as face detection, white balance and beauty shot are provided in it for a fine shoot. This camera can capture videos as well. The overall performance of the camera in this GSM mobile phone is good, but the pictures taken in low light condition seem to be noisy. They lack details as well.
Regarding the connectivity features employed in Samsung S5350 Shark 3.2MP Camera Mobile Phone, there is bluetooth 2.1, 3G support for high speed connections, as well as GPRS and EDGE support. However, there is no Wi-Fi and this is not a surprise as it cannot be expected in a cheap mobile phone. Finally, another impressive feature in this 3G mobile phone is its clear and sharp loudspeaker. Obviously, the call quality is also good.
There is an internal memory of 100GB for Samsung S5350 Shark 3G mobile phone. This can be expanded further using a microSD memory card up to a maximum of 16GB. The battery life offered by this camera phone is remarkable. It gives about 10 hours of continuous talk time and 450 hours of stand by time, on a single charge. To say, Samsung S5350 is a good alternative for many of the low cost mobile phones available in the market.

Google Integrates Click-to-Call Feature for Mobile Ads
January 30, 2010
Google, the search engine giant has integrated a new Click-to-Call feature in AdWords for mobile phones. This feature allows the users to make calls to the advertisers directly, by clicking on the displayed phone number in the advertisements. This is possible in any smartphones with integrated internet browser, including Android, iPhone and Web OS mobile phones.
To elaborate, the phone number of the advertised firm will be displayed on the top or the bottom of the search query page. In order to contact this firm, just tap on the displayed phone number with the fingers. This is highly useful, especially when the user needs to make reservations in places like restaurants, while on the move. Also, since the mobile web search is location based, the displayed results and their numbers will be of those places, which are near to the current location of the user.
Google Click-to-Call Feature for Mobile Ads brings advertisers closer to the clients. An advertiser can count the number of calls made from a particular ad, in the same way they track the clicks in the websites. To enable this application, the advertisers need to set up a location extension and add the phone numbers to their AdWord account. For them, the cost for click-to-call in mobile phones is same as the cost for click-to-visit in websites. Particularly, the advertisers must ensure that they have chosen to run the ads on smartphones.
The release of Click-to-Call feature came after Google’s launch of ‘Location-based’ search and ‘Near Me Now’ feature. With this latest move, Google once again proves that they are determined to capture the mobile advertising market.

Acer’s Big Plans for 2010: App Store, E-Reader and Chrome OS Netbook
January 29, 2010
Acer is in the midst of the establishment of its own online application stores, for its range of mobile phones. Reportedly, its app store will launch by the mid-2010.
According to Jim Wong, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Acer, the new app store will have hundreds of mobile software downloads and exclusive contents that will not be available on the rival smartphones. He said that both low-cost, as well as free applications will be featured in this app store.
However, there is no clue on the name of the developers, who will contribute to the software efforts. It was in March 2009 that Acer first revealed its plan for an app store, at the annual Mobile World Congress event.
Along with the plan for an own app store, Acer has planned to launch a Chrome OS based netbook in the third quarter of 2010. Furthermore, there will be an e-reader as well. The launch of e-reader can bless Acer well, since there is no dominant brand for e-book in European market now.
To conclude, these are some of the prominent plans of Acer to make 2010 their year.
