If you are are stuck up with the less expensive non-smart phone, then here is a piece of info that may bring smile in your face. Microsoft has launched a new mobile phone application especially for the feature phones to make them smarter. Named OneApp, it is a set of applications that can be downloaded from the internet just like another music download.
Microsoft says that their OneApp will offer a set of applications as decided by the network providers. The users need not bother about storing the applications in the OneApp; it is done by the operators. Tim McDonough, the senior VP of mobile product management, Microsoft has added that with OneApp, the users can utilise their favourite apps without changing their handheld device.
As per the latest reports, the South African Telecom operator Blue Label will be the first organisation to offer OneApp to its customers. It is told that Blue Label has wrapped in Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger, etc. in the OneApp to make it an irresistible beauty. A software will be tailored along the OneApp to fine-tune the apps into mobile phones irrespective of the brand or models.
It is evident that Microsoft is targeting the emerging market nations where more people are still using feature phones. One App has designed in such a way to use the memory as well as energy modestly. The graphics are developed in a lower resolution to avoid the draining off of the battery, says Amit Mital Microsoft Personnel in the Unlimited Potential Group.
